By default, Amazon sets the transit time for shipments evenly between all states. As a result, you will occasionally have to spend more $$ to make sure packages arrive across the country on time. Luckily there are ways to circumvent this to help save any of your potential profits!
We can start by adjusting the transit time for your template located in the Shipping Settings:
From here, you should see your own Shipping Template, which may have a different name. Click "Edit Template" on the right:
Use the legend at the top to match the colors to determine timeframes. Now that you have an idea of transit times, head to your Shipping Template, and adjust the transit times based on each state. For the furthest states, it's recommended to put a 5-8 period, and you can choose to go down in days from there as you get closer to your state.
Expedited shipping is a much simpler process, and mostly comes down to how much you want to charge. Below is an example of a standard shipping template for expedited shipping:
Expedited Shipping = $14.99 + $0.99 per Lb Two-Day Delivery = $19.99 + $3.99 per Lb One-Day Delivery = $44.99 + $5.99 per Lb It's important not to overcharge too much for expedited shipping, as Amazon will restrict areas from using expedited shipping with you as a result. Once you've completed the changes, scroll to the bottom of the page and press "Save".
As you can see, with the exception of Hawaii, Alaska, and PR, all areas evenly share the same "2-4 Day" Transit Time. This is what we will update. To determine the best transit times for your area, click the USPS Heat Map . Use the first 3 digits of your zip to find your city name:
