Amazon Business Insurance
Why did I receive this message? As of September 1, 2021, under section 9 of the Business Solutions Agreement, you must obtain and maintain commercial general, umbrella, or excess liability insurance with a limit of at least $1 million per occurrence and in aggregate, within 30 days after exceeding $10,000 in gross sales proceeds in a month on Amazon or if otherwise requested by Amazon. For more information, go to the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G1791.
How can I obtain commercial liability insurance? To secure easy and affordable liability insurance, Amazon has worked with Marsh, an insurance broker, to create the Amazon Insurance Accelerator. The Accelerator offers a network of insurance providers who will evaluate and, if appropriate, offer liability insurance at competitive rates to qualifying selling partners. To learn more about Amazon Insurance Accelerator and contact the providers, go to Business Insurance: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/mario/v2/az/flow/BusinessInsurance/page/InsuranceEstablishment/global/render?view=up
You may obtain coverage with other providers, however, ensure that your policy fulfills our insurance policy requirements mentioned here: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/200386300.
What will Amazon accept as proof of a commercial liability policy? You can obtain a COI that details what is covered, the amount of coverage, and any exclusions or deductibles from your insurance broker or directly from the insurer. Please be aware that insurance brokers cannot bind coverage, so be sure to verify the existence of your policy. If you submit a COI and Amazon cannot verify the existence of an underlying insurance policy based on the information you provided, we may ask that you provide a declarations page or copy of the full policy directly from the insurer.
Where do I submit proof of my commercial liability insurance policy? Upload your COI (or other proof of a commercial liability policy such as a declarations page) directly to the Business Insurance page: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/mario/v2/az/flow/BusinessInsurance/page/InsuranceEstablishment/global/render?view=up.
https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/200386300 Is a waiver of subrogation endorsement required by any of your clients? Amazon does not state that you do.
My notes: the options Amazon gives you are pretty high $ and you can find lower quotes through some of the companies listed below. Fill out the questions to your truth and compare quotes. Ask questions in Amazon chat and tag myself or Jake. If you are buying insurance outside of Amazons referrals, make sure to read https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/200386300 And make sure your insurance works with what Amazon wants. Below I've given some companies you can get quotes from for your business. We are not suggesting any insurance company for you. Instead we are just helping you narrow down the correct insurance company for your business. Note that we are more or less just giving you some examples of companies/quotes you can get which may work for your business. I highly suggest doing self research to find what company is best for you.
