A brief guide on tax exemption, what it is, and how you can benefit from it.

Overview

In short, Tax Exemption is a means of buying products from retailers without having to pay sales tax on it. You are buying products with the intent to resell, and thus you do not need to pay the sales tax upfront. Instead, the sales tax is applied to the sale you make on Amazon, which happens automatically.

❗You MUST have a registered business in order to utilize Tax Exemption. Every user should begin registering for a business or already have one if planning to pursue resell for any amount of time. Reach out to a team member or tag us in chat for more info.

Acquiring the Form

First, you'll need to acquire your Tax Exemption Form, which you can find by googling "Tax Exemption" then include your state. Generally the form will be provided by your state .gov website. Reach out to us in chat or DMs for additional help.

Once you've acquired the form, you can begin filling it out, which you can do digitally with a PDF editor, or written. If written, you'll need to get a copy made digitally, to submit to websites. Keeping physical copies will help for local purchases at stores such as Lowes, Home Depot, and more.

📜The form itself does not need to be approved by the state, or anyone other than the store you are using it on. You must however provide each store with their own form, which is generally identical minus the store's name.
